Scheduled Maintenance
To ensure your BMW gets attention when it needs it, some BMW’S have a technology called Condition Based Servicing. Sensors monitor the condition of parts such as Brake Pads, Brake Fluid, Coolant, Filters and Engine Oil etc. Using this information, the on-board computer works out your BMW’S Service needs, and you can check this on the display in the rev counter. When you bring your BMW in for maintenance, we will perform the BMW CBS health check to ensure that no part of your vehicle is overlooked and is under performing.
While not needing to be done as frequently, there are several parts of your car that should still be checked on a regular basis, approximately every 3 months or every 3,000 miles. One of the parts you should have checked regularly is your engine air filter. The engine air filter keeps dirt, debris, and other items from entering your car’s engine and causing problems. Also your car’s battery and cables, hoses, belts, exhaust, and automatic transmission fluid should be checked approximately every 3,000 miles or every 3 months as well.
Approximately every 6 months or every 6,000 miles remember to have your wiper blades checked, so you are not driving with a smeary or streaky windshield. You should also have your chassis lubrication and your power steering checked at these intervals.
Last, but not least, for the regularly scheduled maintenance for your vehicle are the systems and components that should be checked every 12 months or every 12,000 miles. Your steering system, including your steering and suspension, and the power steering fluid should be checked every year. Ensuring that you can properly and safely navigate your car on the road by having these parts reviewed by a service professional is key to keeping you and your passengers safe. Additionally, you vehicle’s coolant (antifreeze) level and the wheel alignment should be checked on an annual basis too.
